W2C Terminology: The Glossary
Before diving in, let's cover the essential W2C terminology you'll encounter:
W2C (Where to Cop): A request for a product link or recommendation. "W2C these shoes?" means "Where can I buy these shoes?"
Reps: Short for replicas — products that are inspired by or closely resemble branded items.
QC (Quality Control): The process of reviewing photos of your item before it ships to ensure quality.
GL (God-Like): A term used to describe exceptional quality reps that closely match retail.
Haul: A batch of multiple items ordered at once, usually to save on shipping.
Agent: A shopping service that purchases items from Chinese platforms on your behalf.
Batch: A specific production run of a rep item. Different batches can have significantly different quality levels.
Legit Check (LC): Asking the community to verify whether an item is authentic or a rep.
Your First Order: Step by Step
Here's how to place your first W2C order:
Choose your item
Browse the KakoBuy Spreadsheet and find something you want. Start with a popular, well-reviewed item to minimize risk.
Create a KakoBuy account
Sign up at kakobuy.com. The process is straightforward and takes about 5 minutes.
Deposit funds
Add money to your KakoBuy account using a credit card or crypto. Start with a small amount for your first order.
Submit your order
Click "Buy on KakoBuy" from the product modal. This will take you to KakoBuy with the product pre-loaded. Review the details and submit.
Wait for QC photos
KakoBuy will send you QC photos when your item arrives at their warehouse (usually 3-7 days after ordering).
Review and approve
Carefully review the QC photos against retail references. If satisfied, approve the shipment.
Choose a shipping line
Select your preferred shipping line based on speed and budget. For your first order, a mid-tier line is recommended.
Track your package
Use 17track.net to monitor your shipment. Delivery typically takes 2-4 weeks.
How Much Should You Spend on Your First Order?
For your first W2C order, we recommend keeping it modest — around $50-100 total including shipping. This lets you learn the process without significant financial risk. Choose 1-2 items that you're genuinely excited about, rather than trying to build a full wardrobe in one go.
As you gain experience and confidence, you can scale up to larger hauls. Many experienced W2C buyers do quarterly hauls of $200-500, consolidating multiple items to save on shipping costs.
Remember that the total cost includes: product price + agent service fee (5-10%) + domestic shipping in China + international shipping. Factor all of these into your budget.
Avoiding Scams and Bad Sellers
The W2C community is generally trustworthy, but there are some pitfalls to avoid:
Building Your W2C Wardrobe Strategically
Once you've mastered the basics, here's how to build a great W2C wardrobe strategically:
Start with basics: T-shirts, hoodies, and simple sneakers are the easiest items to get right in rep form. They're also the most versatile and cost-effective.
Graduate to statement pieces: Once you're comfortable with the process, move on to more complex items like jackets, sets, and designer accessories.
Diversify your agents: Having accounts on 2-3 agents lets you compare prices and take advantage of promotions. Different agents also have different seller relationships, so one might have better access to certain products.
Join the community: The W2C community on Reddit (r/FashionReps, r/Repsneakers), Telegram, and Discord is invaluable. You'll get recommendations, QC help, and shipping advice from experienced buyers.
